The final is on ESPN2, but we've got to get there first.

Really would've loved to see a home game at UIC. It would've absolutely shattered our highest attendance record.... But, that's what we get for struggling early on and throughout conference. ESPN, unsurprisingly, wrote up a nice article about UMass today...talking about how they're on the verge of the College Cup. Coach Trask...post it in the locker-room... soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=487485&root=ncaa&cc=5901UMass is overlooked, but UIC is not? Who has been awarded two home games? Who has roughed up three ranked teams on the road and still is not getting an article? I think the answer is pretty clear as to who is overlooked here. I believe we will win this game. With the best GK and defense in the country, and not too shabby on the other end, I have faith in this team....I'd love to see UIC in the final four of any event....

East Coast bias from ESPN, don't let it hurt your feelings. The team will get the respect they deserve by showing the nation their play on the field. College Cup or bust!

Really an incredible run by this team. It certainly is not how you start but how you finish and these guys do not want to be done! UMass is playing well now as well so we have to face them just as though we were facing a seeded team. Keep it going.
Go Flames!

if you haven't seen it yet...uicflames.com just posted a 'tourney headquarters' page. uicflames.cstv.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/ilch-msoc-07-ncaa-tourney-central.htmlit lists some viewing parties that have come up....one in the dorms, one at WOW wings on south campus (with a pretty sweet discount for UIC students) and one at a bar on clark street. anybody planning on going to one of the bars??? haven't decided what i'm doing yet.... also wanted to note: i have never heard any of my professors talk about athletics during my time here at the university...it's never mentioned and i sometimes wonder if any of them realize we have sports teams at uic. BUT...the last couple of days in one of my classes my prof. has been raving about the soccer team telling all the students to watch the game online and that UIC has never had an athletic team go to the final four.....and so on....definitely cool that they are actually taking notice and also giving us some much needed promotional help with the students!!

Is this the first ever viewing party at one of the bars/restaurants on UIC's campus? That is fantastic. And, I think a lot of us envisioned that this could ultimately happen.
Curious how the webcast will look though because even if you maximize it on your computer screen, the quality is pretty poor. But with that said, it's awesome. I hope for the fans' sake, and for UIC's sake, that we have a decent turnout. A good turnout may keep this viewing party as an option down the road. Also, it would be great to pull off a win so the momentum isn't killed right when it starts.
Good news about the professor(s) spreading the word as well...
Wonder why no basketball viewing parties yet? Except for the obvious that basketball blows...and that any viewing party would probably cost a restaurant/bar business....but....

I'll be at JST, hoping for a great turnout and of course a Flames win.
