Justin Johnson was taken by the Baltimore Orioles in the 16th Rd with the 475th overall pick.

Justin Johnson was a beast for UIC. He was injured last season and missed the whole year, but came back this year and didn't miss a beat.
I am a little surprised that more UIC players aren't drafted. Take for example, Mark Hallberg. He can play just about any IF position, is one of the 10 toughest players in the country to strike out, and is really a hitting machine. I am sure that there are things scouts see that I don't, but you'd think that after Curtis Granderson has made a splash in the majors, that some would look past that (Granderson led the country in average his JR. year).

I believe that Hallberg cannot be drafted because he is a sophomore. To be drafted it must happen beofre you are a college freshman or after you have played in college for three years. Also the big announcement will be coming this afternoon.

I think Hallberg and Zink are pretty solid players. Could both be drafted after next year? If I'm not mistaken, isn't Hallberg the #1 hardest person to strikeout in the NCAA? If you know that it will be coming this afternoon (which now does not appear to be the case), do you also know that it is indeed big news?

Zink would've been drafted this year had he not injured his arm, as for next year Hallberg and Zink should be locks to get drafted. Hallberg did finish the season as the toughest player to strike out in Div I. I was informed that the news would released this afternoon, maybe tomorrow though don't know what happened. I promised the the SID's that they will be the first to release the news so everything can be official. It does involve a transfer.

Thanks for the information. I just assumed that all players were eligible to get drafted. I believe that next year, we could have multiple players drafted.
