Has anyone read about the 2016 Olympic plans recently? The plans now call for a huge aquatic center to be built on the UIC campus to hold the swimming events and stuff. There are articles in the papers that mentioned that Chicago officials are in talks with UIC, whic is in the early stages of a 10-year plan for the athletics department. This was the part I found interesting. I wonder what is involved in this 10-year plan?? What should be part of this plan?

Big D, where did you see this article? I have seen articles on the 2016 Olympics, but mostly all about the new stadium proposal. I have seen nothing to do with UIC.

Here are a couple articles... Sun-TimesTribThere was another in the daily southtown or daily herald as well, i believe. Not much info, but the center that is to be built at UIC (should officials sign off on it) would have 5 pools (all temporary or all but one temporary). Some appear to want them to be permanent. Not sure if that would be of any use to us...we could get some exposure during the games. But the thing that mostly stood out, to me at least, was that we are beginning this 10-year plan for athletics.
