Jordan was apparently down to UIUC and Valpo.
At UIUC, he's not getting a scholarship (obviously money's not an issue, but its the principle), he'll be a "preferred" walk-on, and I doubt he'll see any major minutes there his entire career. He will get a good education in his home state, which is a plus.
At Valpo, he may not have started, but he'd be a scholarship player, and he likely would've seen some good minutes. He'd also get a quality education.
Obviously, if he can somehow break through and get minutes at UIUC, he'll be more visible playing in the Big 10 and on TV. With Valpo, he'd basically be invisible all 4 years.
He chose UIUC. Do you think this was the right choice? And why?

I think Jordan will have a tougher time at UIUC. In the Big 10 he will get schooled on a regular basis by his teammates at practice, the competition in the Big 10, etc. If you were a starter at UIUC, you would not be proud of the fact that you are starting over MJ's kid? If he does see minutes, you mean to tell me people won't try to highlight reel on MJ's son on national tv?
There could be advantages of having less exposure and being in a mid major conference.
If he picked the selection based on the school and not on their program's...UIUC isn't a bad pick.
