If they ever have football, you can sign me up for season tix on the first day. I'm sure I wouldn't be alone on this one.

UIC had its most realitistic shot at a football stadium in the late 90s when Mayor Daley pushed for the replacement bears stadium on the south campus. UIC shot down that proposal with enthusiasm.
The idea came up again when Daley mentioned a stadium for UIC in the initial Olympics proposal, but it doesn't seem that administaration is up for the idea at all. We have a history of not taking advantage of situations beyond the campus community. I.E. we let the proposed swimming center get relocated without a whimper.
I actually do think a football team would be a transformative addition to the UIC campus - but do we have room anywhere for an on campus stadium? And what would the cost be?
