Big game tonight! I really wish I could be there. Anyway, hope the guys come out ready to play. I really think they will and that the Wright State game is a wake up call. Good luck guys!
Anybody going to the game? Also, could someone just give a little info on here after the game?

Oh man, big game. Pumped to go, that's for sure. I am expecting a huge crowd and I really hope that this UIC team is as up for is as the fans are and can give the crowd a good show!

Ohio State's website is saying there were 2,438 fans at UIC tonight!!! WOW!! There were a lot, but I didn't think there were THAT many...

I think we are all a little disappointed with the result, seeing as how UIC dominated the majority of the game. But there was no lack of effort or execution. This was one of those games where the ball just didn't go in the net.
The crowd was phenomenal. The announcer said 2500 fans, a Flames Field record. I know I've never seen anything like it, and even the OSU players were acting like it was a big deal. The head coach of the Chicago Fire was there. Channel 7 news was there. We can put any doubts about UIC being a big time soccer school to bed, because this was a crowd worthy of any college program anywhere in the country.
A win would have been great, and UIC truly deserved it, but instead of seeing the glass half empty, I'm seeing it half full.
This is my fourth season attending UIC soccer, and in hindsight, a top 4 program drawing a crowd like that would have been a wildly optimistic best-case scenario back in 2005.
To see it actually happen is nothing short of amazing.

Jimmy Collins was there, I hope he was taking notes on what building a program with an identity, focus and most importantly consistent success can do.
We don't play the sexiest style of soccer, but its solid, effective and well done. Imaging if the basketball team decided for once that it would like to be known for its defensive prowess?
An exciting game, some missed opportunities in the first half and a few lucky breaks in the 2nd half kept his one scoreless. When overtime came around you could tell the guys were tired and much less aggressive than in the first half.
I felt like they were much more aggressive in the first half than they ever have been. I attributed it to the large crowd and a play by the coaching staff to seize the energy the crowd was giving with an early goal. As big as the crowd was there were long periods of relative quiet, but I suppose that is to be expected when the game is scoreless. I don't know if we'll see 2,500 people again but anything is possible with the way these boys play...UIC a soccer school now?
