How well they get attendance will depend on how they do in the tournaments they are in at the beginning of the season. They should switch to the Forum for Basketball games the Credit one is way to big. The Forum would be a better environment plus it would be closer to two sets of dorm rooms to get more students to the game. With us not having much attendance it would be cheaper to host games( I think they pay anywhere between $5,000-$20,000 per game) The Men's teams probably get $2 million operations budget and the Women get $1 million. Not to mention the Practice court got redone last summer and the men's locker room got redone last summer which was twice in 4 years. They finally redid the the outfield fence at the softball field which needed to be done a long time ago. The tennis courts needed to be done due to huge cracks in them and visiting teams don't want to play on them.

Don't know how long you've been with the University, but when the Flames are winning, they get good crowds. With the move to the Valley, the Illinois schools, Valpo, Murray State and Drake will help with fan attendance. No need to consider any other venue for the games. This team can average 5,000+ if they win. That's not bad to open the first season in the Valley.

5,000+ is quite the reach I would say. Loyola barley hits 4,000 fans a game now and they are a MUCH better program than us and have a way nicer facility. Looking back NCAA attendance records UIC averaged 4,200 in 2003 and 4,600 in 2004. Not saying 5,000+ is not possible but it would be quite the mountain to climb to get there.

That being said I do agree they need to get out of Credit Union 1. It is way too big and a money pit for the athletic department. Building a smaller facility on campus would be the much smarter move.
