UWM goes and beats a mediocre St. Louis squad. UW-GB hangs with Wisco and loses by ten at the Kohl (one of the toughest home courts in America). Both games good for UIC's RPI.

It was a graet win for UWM since St Louis is from a bigger conference and is not considered a mid major. They not only beat them but went on the road to beat them.
Butler lost, and GB was down by 20-25 consistently for most of the game but UW put in all there scrubs and GB kept all there starters in. The game was nto as close as the score showed

I'd have to disagree about St. Louis. While C-USA is currently a big conference, SLU is terrible and their RPI is going to end up being right there with the middle of the road HL teams. Next year, St. Louis is going to be in a mid-major conference, albeit a pretty good one. Not to take anything away from UWM, it's a nice win but I don't think it's any better than beating UIC at the Pavilion.
Butler did lose at Bradley last night, but the Braves seem to be decent. They did beat DePaul by 10 on Saturday.
Does anyone check this board on a regular basis. I realize this topic is appropriate for this forum but to me, this stuff belongs on the main UIC board as it pertains to UIC's RPI. Just a thought that all we may need is a UIC basketball forum and a recruiting forum.

Actually, St. Louis' RPI will probably end up being pretty good depending on, of course, their abililty to win games.
This season the RPI has added another "tweak" to their system. They give more weight for road wins. This gives the "major" teams incentive for scheduling road games at mid-majors. And of course it helps mid-majors as well.

However, unless you follow the HL closely, or are "very" into college bball, it is hard to really understand how big a win at the Pavilion really is. Like it or not, from a regional/national point of view, a win on the road at a "major" conference opponent is percieved as a big deal - whereas a win at a conference rival is not seen as such a big accomplishment. While I don't necessarily agree with this logic, that is the way the chips fall (for mid-majors at least).

Yeah, this post was bordeline....but where do you draw the line.......I mean, I'm getting sick of all these posts which are 99% UWM related, especially when the poster is all but admitting that he's doing it to somewhat rub it in. You know...."UWM won again last night.....they beat a good St. Louis team on the road....they're now 6-0 on the season......by the way, this is good for UIC". Maybe it's not that dramatic but you know what I mean...... The recuiting forum is a good idea and if people want it, I'll put it in. I will also take this section out if posters don't like it. Unfortunately, I have tried to do polls in the past (see board section), and I got like 2 votes to create this section.....nobody voted against it. So I'd like to have some more input but nobody's really inputting. Maybe you can create a poll if you'd like on both topics.

I was kidding about rubbing it in. I mean come on we are conference arch rivals there has to be some bad blood. I mean respect most everyone on here and find it interesting what everyone has to say. I respected what yo gusy said when yous aid not to post the stuff ont he main UIC board and to post it in here. I did just htat now you want to take that away. Either way I think its good to hear what other teams have to say, if you cant handle that UWM is better so far this year than ignore my posts

I think that we should take all the volume of posts we can get at the main board. It's not like it's overflowing. If something posted runs on the border of just trash talking or pointless, then close the thread, and tell HLer to remember where he is. Otherwise, I like to talk about UWM objectively, and this is honestly the first time I have clicked on this forum. I would like a recruiting forum, just because it keeps the rumors and things of that nature in one place, but for HL talk, UIC talk, UWM talk, etc. let's go to the main board.
The only other forum I could think of would be an off-topic one for politics, movies, life, whatever.

Or maybe take the UIC talk and stuff like that to the main board, and the UWM talk off of the board?

I dont know. I think the more the merrier. We can keep everything seperated like it is right now. I do like hearing about other horizon league teams w/o having to search around for everyone's message board. Plus it brings some good friendly rivalry to the games.

Is it possible to put the links to upcoming opponent teams in the links "category"?

Is it possible to put the links to upcoming opponent teams in the links "category"? What do you mean nfg? Do you mean putting message board links for each of the teams we play? I did put that one site in the links section which has links to every message board in the NCAA basically....
