Just like to note that the UIC Baseball team and the UIC Softball team have both been picked as Pre-Season favorites to win the Horizon League. UIC Softball garnered every 1st place vote. They're coming off another terrific season as well as wins over Tennessee and Notre Dame in the NCAA Tourney last year. The UIC baseball team is coming off a very good season but a disappointing HL Tournament. The team dominated for most of last season and returns a very good pitching staff to go with a very good offense. Led by Ryan Zink, Freshman All American, they'll look to make the NCAAs this season.

I apologize for my error in my last post. UIC Baseball was chosen today as the Horizon League pre-season pick to win conference. An impressive stat: both the Men's Baseball and Women's Softball received every first place vote.

Nice, that would be good publicity.

Nice, that would be good publicity. Believe it or not, UIC softball and baseball have been powerhouses for quite some time now. Unfortunately, few people follow these sports (see reference: empty stands and no media coverage). I'm kind of confused on how this would bring good publicity to UIC.

Yeah, it really is a shame that the UIC sports program is overlooked. I remember watching Curtis Granderson in the UIC outfield and look at where he is now. Or the UIC softball team last year just completely dominated! I mean, they were in a whole other league. Even soccer games are fun to watch. It's just too bad that nobody takes notice.

What I'm saying is they have been winning, and it has not brought publicity. So why should it start now? I would agree that the winning hasn't done much, but it most certainly hasnt resulted in less publicity..... our school, its atmosphere, and social life has a long way to go before the school begins to change..
