After the big win at the Pavilion last night, I hope we aren't set up for a letdown on the soccer pitch tonight.
This is almost certainly the last home game for the soccer Flames this season, and the final opportunity to atone for the woes of this season, since its single game elimination from here on out.
I haven't been able to make it to as many games this season, but what I have seen has been maddeningly inconsistent. Great play one game, mediocre play the next. It seems though, that the team has been playing better and more consistently of late, and last week's win at Loyola has put everyone in the league on notice that we may very well be the team to beat in this tournament.
Coach Trask has had to try lineup after lineup, and if you followed the Cubs this season, his situation has been a lot like Lou Pinella's at the beginning of the season, constantly tinkering to find the right mix, with similar results.
Hopefully, things have finally settled, and the team has established its identity, and he Will be in the position Pinella was in at the end of the season.
Should be a chilly, possibly soggy night. A good night for coffee with Jack Daniel's, so if you've got the chance, come on down and lets send the lads off to the semis with the kind of crowd support they deserve!!

UIC 4 - WSU 0.
Wright State comes out playing defensive. UIC sneaks in a goal late in the first half, which forces Wright State out of their shell.
Wright State comes out attacking in the second half, and for a while plays even or better with the Flames. By the middle of the second half it is obvious they are tired, and UIC starts having their way with them, scoring 3 goals.
The Flames look formidable, to say the least. The only thing sad about this game is that it was the last time we'll see Dunjer and Zambrano at Flames field in a UIC uniform.
The crowd was, once again, rowdy and LOUD.
All in all, a great final home game for this team.

Good to hear, sorry I couldn't make it. I plan on traveling if the Fury makes any plans.
