here's what espn.com has to say about the upcoming sweet 16 game......
Illinois-Chicago at No. 8 Creighton (Saturday, 8 p.m. ET)
UIC is back in the final 16 for the first time since 2000, when current U.S. national teamer Jay DeMerit was patrolling the Flames' back line. With a convincing 2-0 second-round triumph at Northwestern, John Trask's team already has gone one step further than the ballyhooed 2006 squad. Will UIC's run end in Omaha? Probably. Creighton's trouncing of SMU in midweek suggests the Bluejays have put that heartbreaking home loss to Bradley in the Missouri Vallley final firmly behind them. Jays win by two.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. I guess we will find out when we see who slips first. Creighton doesn't appear to be giving UIC much respect. Apparently ESPN doesn't either by saying Creighton will win by 2. I would really love for the Flames to prove everybody wrong and pull out a HUGE win in this game. I will definitely be watching that game from the Creighton site and listening to the hoops game at the same time.
Good luck Flames! I am already proud of this team but would like them to keep the magic going!

Bad weather favors the visiting team (keeps the number of screaming fans to a minimum) and the underdog (it minimizes any skill differential). But is also favors the more physical team. Since I haven't seen Creighton, I don't know whether they are more or less skilled or physical than UIC. But they are definitely the home team, and unless their fans are an extremely hardy crew, you'll get the fewest fans possible for a game of this magnitude.

Win or lose, these guys deserve some big time respect. They are a talented group and probably the face of UIC athletics. They play hard, work hard, play with incredible emotion, etc. They not only live up to expectations but exceed them.
And have to say I appreciate how they go up to the stands and acknowledge the fans.
Let's keep it rolling tonight!

So I just listened to the Creighton PA announcer announce the starting lineups. At the end he says, "ladies and gentlemen, the Fire from Illinois-Chicago". What a moron. You heard the UIC fans quickly yell out and correct him. it sounds like we have a nice group of fans at the game. That is awesome!
Go Flames!

its late in the second half.
interesting note: two yellow cards for Creighton within about 2 minutes of eachother. Each time the situations came, the video feed cut and it went to an NCAA logo. I would say Creighton does not want their guys to look bad to viewers watching.
