I love the way the new logo looks on clothing - Here's an example: Glad to see UIUC isn't hogging the word "Illinois" anymore. What do you guys think?

Not a fan, actually. I think it plays into all of UIC's insecurities about being a satellite campus the "real" U of I campus.

Got an email today with a message that's kind of related to this thread:
Thought it was interesting.

Looks like it was designed by UIUC marketing personnel. They want the ILLINOIS part very visible and the CHICAGO part very small for obvious reasons............ Where's any UIC branded stuff? Illini orange and blue stuff qualifies with the ND, Marquette and other school stuff too....

Love the idea of the trade-in (too bad all the Steve & Barry's closed up ) Anyone have an idea of what items are available for trade-up and can you trade-in old UIC gear? Are they similar logo look to what uicval posted above? Hopefully they will be donating the traded-in clothes to people in need, but a massive bonfire would be another option. Who doesn't like a good bonfire, despite the noxious fumes that would most likely arise.

I can tolerate the new gear, but what's wrong with and emblazoned "UIC" or even have CHICAGO written in large letters?
Also, why don't the UNIVERSITY and the Athletic Department work together in using the actual UIC sports Insignia? The Flames Logo would be perfect on sweat shirts, jackets, hats, etc. For a lot of fans, myself included, that's the reason for wearing the sports garb: The Flames Logo!

Chuck A, there is plenty of "Chicago" Illinois stuff at the school bookstore on campus. Was just there for a purchase myself and took a couple of snapshots of different sweats right in the main entrance that you might like but I need technical help here. How do I get them attached/loaded onto this site's message page? I tried dragging them from a file on my laptop and then copying and pasting but neither worked. Love to show you and the others here but need advice on how to do so........Anxiously awaiting technical assistance...

The quickest way is to go to www.imgur.com, select "Computer" under "Upload Images", and then select your picture you want to upload. After it's uploaded, imgur will give you a bunch of links on the right side of the page. Find the BBCode entry, copy it, and paste it into your post on this board, and that picture will show up in your post. If you don't want the actual image in the post, you can copy/paste the direct link given by imgur, and when one of us clicks on it, it'll take us to the image. It's up to you. There are many online image hosts, like photobucket, flickr, google, etc. You can pick any. But you can use imgur without even signing up. Quick and easy.
