I saw this and wondered why they said we were members and didn't see anything but UIUC in the list of memebers. Typical. U of Calif had the general site link, but UofI, of course not. I even emailed in and didn't get a response... www.sciencecoalition.org/mission-and-members

Ms. Sullivan: I had the pleasure of seeing your presentation on all the great happenings at UIC during the 30th anniversary of the merger celebration last year, which was inspirational! There was an article in the Tribune yesterday that highlighted a report by Science Coalition showing 7 start-ups that can trace their roots to UIC, which is fantastic. What wasn't clear is if UIC is a member of Science Coalition or if the report searched all research institutions... When I went to their website ( www.sciencecoalition.org/mission-and-members) anything related to UIC is absent. There is a link to UIUC with their logo, but nothing related to UIC. I did notice that University of California has the general UC logo with a link to the UC system encompassing all campuses. Is UIC a member of this coalition through UI? Also, congratulations on your new leadership role with IllinoisVENTURES! -- Nick Sullivan, Nancy <nansulli@otm.uic.edu> Oct 30 to Jon, me, nansulli Nick, Thank you very much for the nice note, I appreciate it. I've copied John Pyatt to help answer your detailed questions about the Science Coalition. My best, Nancy Nancy Sullivan CEO and Managing Director, IllinoisVENTURES, LLC

Thanks Big D. I saw it too. Nick, it probably is through UIUC, again which is typical. But I guess even an association like this is better than no acknowledgment at all.
