UIC has posted a new 10-year master plan. Lots of new buildings supposedly coming. You can see ideas here - cppm.uic.edu/Content/master_plan/2017-2027_exec_sum.pdfWill be curious to see how much of this gets done...though in the Chancellor's recent state of the university speech, he said this stuff is happening, along with growth to 35,000 students. But how long has this Advanced Chemical Building been talked about? How many master plans are we currently operating under? Let's start getting stuff done!

I worked in the Chemistry department and the new Chemical building was being talked about some years before I retired from UIC. Been retired 3 1/2 years now, so we'll see.
I also think the new Soccer Stadium, new Pavilion and new Softball Field will help athletics immensely. Too bad they can't work a track and field complex in the plan.

I'll comment in more detail later but I like the 'think big' mentality. When it comes down to it, a good amount of the buildings on campus are old and outdated and ugly. Things like that matter to students as faculty. I like the improvements they've made to some in terms of brightening up the classrooms, improving the looks and also making them environmentally friendly. Additionally, I did see something in Crain's Chicago Business about our Compter Science program. It seemed like their building, on Taylor and Morgan, was a sure thing and is being built very soon (I'm guessing covering part of that parking lot). Good read: www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20170324/ISSUE01/170329891

So if this is correct these last 2 building should be going up soon.
The computer science building will be on the parking lot on Taylor and Morgan.
This new one I can't place. They said Harrison and Morgan. That's where BSB is. Are they replacing that building?
Edit: I read that it will be on the north side of Harrison. Interesting.
