So we won 2/3 last weekend against NKU which is disappointing. However, Wright State also dropped one and were 2-1 along with us.
We open with a DH today against Oakland and won Game 1 4-3. A little concerning having such a tough time with really bad competition
I think the biggest cause for concern is Alex Padilla. He was a 3rd team All American last year after a 0.45 ERA and a 0.00 ERA on conference. Named a preseason All American and has an ERA over 11.00

UIC continues a pretty disappointing start to HL play. They score 13 total runs against a bad Oakland team and won 2/3 in the series. A series they should sweep at home and get 1 hit and score 1 run on the finale as Oakland pitcher has a compete game. Might I add he had an ERA over 8.00 heading into today.
This offense as a whole better wake up. Not taking care of business vs the non-Wright State teams and we lose this conference

I agree. To not be able to sweep, at home, the 2 worst teams in the HL does not bode well. The lack of hitting has been especially troubling. Maybe we're spoiled by last year's excellent hitting team, but those guys are long gone. I can't believe how many games we've been able to get only 6-7 hits or less--and against lousy competition.
I guess the reason we have a 15-6 record at this point is because of the pitching. What's the old saying? Pitching is 75% of the game?
