UIC fell to Missouri St in the semis today, 1-0.
They went up early and we failed to convert on a penalty kick. Have got to make your freebies this time of year, especially when taken by your leading goal scorer against one of the stingiest defenses in the country.
We pushed more in the 2nd half but never really made it difficult on the keeper…just no great chances.
Now we wait. Do we get into the tourney? RPI will still be strong after today’s loss. I’m guessing no after that bad stretch we had. More parity in soccer than in basketball, but they’ll still put in a name team over us.
We are clearly a step behind Missouri St and Western Michigan…you can see it on the field. I actually think we looked the worst against Bowling Green, so right now, we’re probably 4th best…teetering on 3rd. But there is a big gap between us and the top 2. Curious to see if Phillips can recruit better to eventually get us to the top.

I agree Big D. Western Michigan is clearly the best team in the Valley. MSU is next. UIC did win 11 games, have a decent rpi and was ranked earlier in the season. They deserve an at-large, but I find it hard that the powers-that-be will extend an invitation.
