I know I kept saying that I was going to make the game but due to unforseen circumstances, I had to miss once again. Come Monday, nothing will keep me out of the Pavilion, unless of course the lady at TicketMaster lied and there won't be any Student Section tickets left. Anyways, on to last night's game...
-I am glad to read that Justin Bowen is scoring better this year. It said that he was using his jump shot more which is something that we all talked about on the board.
-Not much to say about Ced Banks - He's solid.
-Let's hope that Stefanov can play like he's 6'9" against some stiffer competition and keep up the pretty decent scoring.
-Free throw shooting I believe was 13-16? Is this correct? The UIC Flames?
-Anybody there know how Poole did?

I didn't go either, exhibition doesn't do a lot for me, but it looked promising. I think we'll get killed by G-Tech, but that doesn't mean it won't be really fun and totally help our RPI in the long run.
This season really could go either way.

Speaking of RPI, two of our opponents won last night. Wright State defeated Tulsa in the opening round of the Preseason NIT. Their next opponent is Arizona on tomorrow. Two more opponents won also. Penn defeated Quinnipiac. Illinois State, after getting destroyed by Marquette the other day improved to 2-1 last night. So if our opponents keep winning, it'll help our RPI when we play them. Wright State's win is a big help to the HL. Go Raiders! (Did I say that?)

It's hard not to be excited by Bowen and Stefanov so far....at the very least, they are contributing more than last year, and they both have decent size at 6-7 and 6-9, respectively.....to have versatility with size like that could be a dangerous weapon if they start showing some consistency....
Also, you're right Chuck, WSU winning (and even losing to Arizona if it happens) will help their RPI in th elong run, which in turn will help ours. We have to root for HL teams outside of conference season....
by the way Chuck, did you see my reply on the other message board on how to change your username to "Chuck A" and not "ChuckA"? You can do it in your profile....you'd still log in as ChuckA, but when you post it would say "Chuck A"....

Im happy to hear bowen had a good game, we really need him to step up all year long. However I am worried about him playing in the four spot. Bowen was the only player who came to play against Kansas and for that matter U of I last year. My point is how many fouls will Bowen have in the first 8 min of the GT game. Were so small if we have to go to Bowen at that spot.
With that said, I do think if we come to play we can stick in the game for a little bit. If there are as many people as they are saying will be there. Then we need to start off hot to get those peole who are there to see a ACC team on our side. How great would it be to have 6000 people on a D chant. Lets get fired up for monday
