I was reading the support board and for those of you having trouble getting emails with passwords, they are actually being sent....
However, if you have an AOL email address, the proboards emails are regarded as super-spam, and are filtered as such.
I don't know if you guys can read super-spam or if it's deleted, but this is what's happening.
The best solution (if you can't read the super-spam) is to use another email address when registering...and if you don't have one, I'd suggest signing up for a free hotmail account...it's very quick.
If you tried registering before and need me to delete your username so that you can reregister it, just let me know in this thread and I will do that.....
Thanks

i dont even understand why you even need an email address. i never needed to check for an email from proboards.
as soon as I registered my username and password, I begun using it immediately. no email was needed from proboards at all.

But when you click on "register", doesn't it only ask you for a desired username and an email address (there's no place to choose a password)? I thought they then sent you an email with a default password and you log in with it....then in your profile, you can change your password. Is this not right?

i know on our board (UWM's if you couldnt have guessed that) no guests are alowed to post, unlike this board where anyone and their grandmother can post without registering. this forces people to register and keeps some of the rif raff away since by registering you are required to put in a valid email adress. later.....Be prepared to go down in ....dare i say it....Flames this sat.

In trying to build a fan-base we don't want to turn anyone away (for instance, I have visited many opponent boards and I don't want to take the time to register just to post my thoughts).....if the guest posting gets out of control, we may have to reconsider but as of now, I think it's best to keep it this way. As for the game, I expect the outcome to be the same as the past years have been at the Pavilion....victorious. UWM will need to play their best ball and shut down Ced to beat UIC at home....

I'm having difficulty staying logged in. How can I fix this? I'm afraid I don't totally understand your problem....could you be more specific? When you click the login button, do you have the "always stay logged in" button checked? If not, do you have yourself being logged out after a short amount of time (you can specify the minutes you stay logged in)? Other than this, either you're deleting your cookies manualy or your browser may not be set up to accept cookies....both of these would cause problems..... This is from the support board.... -------------------------------------------------------------------- Problems Logging In "I login fine, but when I click a link it logs me out!" Your browser is not accepting cookies properly. First check to make sure you have cookies enabled. Also, in Internet Explorer 6 you need to make sure that you have 3rd Party Cookies enabled (you can check to see if you have version 6 by clicking on "Help" and then "About Internet Explorer"). Board members need to enable cookies, and should do the following: - Click on tools on the menubar on your browser
- Click on Internet Options on the drop menu
- On the window that pops up, click on the privacy tab
- Put the arrow and track so that the arrow is on low
- Click ok
This will enable third party cookies: - Click on tools on the menubar on your browser
- Click on Internet Options on the drop menu
- On the window that pops up, click on the security tab
- Click on the custom button
- On the little window that pops up, scroll down to where it says cookies, and make sure the radio button is in the enabled position
- Click save
------------------------------------------------------------------ Did this help?

The first part didn't but the second part may have. I notice that it's happening only when I log in at home and it's an older system that's had IE uploads for updates. That may have something to do with it. I'll check the next time I'm on. Thanks.

Thanks for the points. I tried just one of them and already it looks as if it's working perfectly. Thanks, again.
