OK everyone,
The board is now fully upgraded to version 4. Proboards support says that initially we may see some "Too Many Connections" messages because many people will be checking out the new features and activating their accounts. Eventually, the board should be faster than before it was upgraded. I will be messing around the next couple of days to see what additional settings may be desirable.
In addition, regarding the activation key....the first time you login, you will be asked to provide a birthday if you haven't done so already. They need to verify that you are over 13 otherwise your account will automatically be deleted....so don't put in a fake birthday! Once you put in your birthday, an activation key will be sent to your email. Now, I tried having mine sent to hotmail and it did not work (even though I've received proboards emails in the past at my hotmail account). However, I signed up for a free yahoo account and it worked immediately. So you may want to try that if you have problems with hotmail.
I will leave this sticky up for a few days.....

I'm sure you guys have noticed a massive amount of board downtime due to "too many connections" error messages. I, along with many other people that have boards on server 28, have been complaining to proboards for the past week (28 is the worst of all the servers...go figure). Apparently, traffic has increased due to the upgrade (lots of people want to check out the new features even though it's really not all that different). Anyway, to make a long story short, this server is to have some boards moved off of it and onto another server. This should decrease the amount of activity this server is seeing and we should see the errors disappear. So, please be patient...things will be back to normal soon. Good thing it's the offseason
