Hey guys and gals, If you haven't noticed, we occasionally get spam posts on this board that contain nothing but hyperlinks in the form of weird symbols. I'm tired of it, but it is the price of keeping guest posting enabled (this is another reason I urge you to register). The other moderators and I have been deleting them for the past 3 months at least. The problem here is that the one or more people doing this have dynamic IP addresses, which means their IP is always changing. Consequently, banning the single IP address each time they post is basically useless. Although the addresses are dynamic, a few of them seem to fall in a particular range. This range is assigned to a company in China (which may explain the weird foreign symbols in the posts). Since we have few posters from China , I am going to ban the entire range of IP addresses assigned to this company in order to try and reduce the amount of spam we get. We may still get some because I've seen other IPs used outside of this range, but I may ultimately ban those ranges as well. Anyways, here's the deal. I am 99.999999% sure that this banning will not affect any of you. However, if by some freak occurrence, one or more of you are accidentally banned, please email me at UICadmin@hotmail.com and let me know (my address is accessible under my name to the left). I will try to get everything fixed. Thanks, and remember.....Say No To Spam!
