The push to 200!

I just noticed that we had a couple new members join this site. Fantastic!

We currently stand at 182 members. What do you say we try and make a push for 200? If you're a guest, and you post on this site, please take the time to register (no, you do not get spam). There are more benefits available to members, including:

• You can get email notification of replies to your posts.
  
• You can send private messages to other members.
  
• Every registered member has a profile. In your profile you can choose how your name is displayed, change your password, set your email address, change how the time is displayed on the forum, change the look of the forum, set your own time zone, and create a signature, which appears at the bottom of each of your posts.
  
• You can create and vote in polls.
  
• You have access to the calendar feature.
  
• Your total number of posts is tracked and, as your total increases, your board ranking will be upgraded.
  
• Finally, you will be an official part of the UIC message board community, and that's what we're trying to do....make this one big place where UIC fans can come and talk about their team.
  

This "new" board has been active since November 2004 and it's a huge step up from the old one. Yet, we still lack the member numbers.

Here's how we rank against other HL boards..

1) UWM: 1280 members - INCREDIBLE!
2) Wright State (Raiderroundball): 809 members
3) Butler: 801 members
4) Loyola: 481 members
5) Valpo: 249 members
6) UWGB: 235 members
7) UIC: 182 members
8) Wright State (Proboards): 128 members
9) CSU: N/A

YSU's board also has more than ours but I don't know the exact number....so we're near dead last. Granted, we have the guest feature on and we have a lot of guest posting, which is why we're so low, but let's move on up the ladder here.

It only takes a couple minutes to register.

Here's and idea. If there is anyone out there reading this from The Fury, how about just one weekend passing out flyers to everyone in all of the dorms telling them about the UIC Flames message board. Of the 3,000 or so students living on campus, I'm sure we can get enough to register to take us past 200! We can't constantly let Milwaukee outdo us!

Andrew and I usually post in the Fury's facebook group something about the message boards, along with the link. We could do flyers, though. I'd say contact the committee, [e-mail] and ask them.

uicalum has brought the board membership to 200 members. Woohoo!!! Hopefully, we'll soon reach 300, but at our current pace, that may take a couple more years
