Does anyone know if they sell the shorts or jerseys the basketball team wears at the bookstore, if so, what color(s) is/are available? I'd like to pick up a pair. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

I haven't been in there in about a week or two, but I've never noticed "official" or even remotely official shorts or jerseys.

I think they just started selling adidas-brand jerseys. You can definitely buy them through uicflames.com, but I'm guessing the bookstore carries them also. I'm not sure how official the jersey is but for $95, it better have been worn by Cedrick Banks... JerseyThey really need to get better merchandise in the bookstore. The hats are subpar, and that's being generous. Every university should sell good-quality hats. For some reason, we don't. For anybody looking for a hat, Lids has the best UIC hat as far as I know. I think I have a slightly different/older version than the one they have now, but it's a good quality, fitted hat. Hat |

95 is a lot of money for a jersey.
Up here, we have ours going for 50, but they're not quite the quality Adidas makes. But 95 dollars? Jeez.

yeah $95 for the red jersey (I think #00). and they only sell them on UICFLAMES.com, not in the bookstore.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks. I go in there on a pretty regular basis. They don't really sell anything that's tied into the athletic department, which is really a shame. As some have noted, you can get some the athletic gear on uicflames.com. They sell some of the athletic merchandise at the Pavilion on game day, but not at the bookstore. Maybe those in the know who read this board (the ticket office dude or dudette, one of the Fury managers, etc.) can do something about it. It would be great to just go the bookstore and pick up an official or replica or whatever they call them jersey or shorts. You can't find anything really with the Flames logo on it either. That's also an athletic department thing. I found a hat in the store a couple years ago and nothing else with the insignia on it. |

I was in the bookstore last week actually while visiting a friend. I remember when they used to sell sweatshirts/summer shirts with the UIC Flames logo on them (back in my student days). Now they have a lot of clothes in there with "UIC FLAMES" on them, but not the actual school logo. That's sad.
At least 95 bucks for a Flame jersey is cheaper than paying 3-digit figures for a Cubs jersey.

By the way, UIC merchandise is really inaccesible...they sell nothing online but a couple shirts and hats, which look bad...when are we going to get some real merchandise...and can someone tell them to get a website with all the items? Even UWM sells far more online than we do. The other day, I was looking for a UIC pennant or small flag....can't find one of those anywhere. It's either you go to the bookstore or you're SOL. Alumni who are out of the area and want UIC gear are out of luck. It's quite pathetic that a school of this size has no real outlet for "real" school athletic wear. No one wants to buy apparel with that stupid Dragon on it! At least not me. He's okay at the games for the kids, but not for me to wear as an alumnus of UIC. Someone needs to get on the ball so we can have plenty of time to purchase official UIC athletic merchandise for next season. |
