This is why John Darby kept a "book" about all this things that went on in the department just in case he every needed it.
Everyone who worked in the department during his time knew it and he made no bones about telling people that he was recording everything.
Understand this. Schmidt is slimy and so have his partners in crime (Dane, David, etc.).
I was told that Darby was on campus the week before Dane was run out of the department.
I just hope this not all.

Moderator,
Is there anyway we can gt this thred moved somewhere else? I don't see what this has to do with basketball. I don't really care about what goes on in this office, I have enought inter office politics going on at my own job. If there is really an investigation going on, let them handle it. If you're an insider and you feel there is injustice going on, I'm sure you'll have your time to speak with an investigator. Just leave it that. Or just move this thread to some "off topic" area and the thred can be continued by those who care about it.

I care and so should every person who has ever put a $1.00 into the UIC program. Be it tickets or donations. If any money that I've put in has been used for other purposes, I want to know. If those people who have been entrusted with that money and are doing things that put the program in jeopardy with the law, or NCAA, I want to know about it.
With all the things that have come out I'm reluctant to write anymore checks for tickets or donations.
Some of the opinions I can do without, but the facts, I'm interested in.

Well the Boys Club is up to no good again. I left UIC many years ago to pursue greater and better challenges. The same players are still at the helm. I have a few questions for you all: 1) Why would UIC drop a strong hockey program to develop a weak and worthless basketball team? Hmmmm. 2) Why would UIC close it's hockey rink and waste millions developing a baskeball facility at the locaion? 3) Why would costs incurred by Student Affairs and the Pavilion never be charged back to the Athletic Department? 4) Why would Dane Whiteside and the athletic staff be permitted to consume alcohol during games and while on duty? 5) Why was David Rosengaard hired? 6) Why could those donors and staff who participated in the party area behind the drape be permitted to drink in a university facility that is not permitted to sell alcohol? Answer to all: Jim Schmidt.... The program was a sham when it was sold to the administration over 10 years ago and the buddy buddy system of Jim Schmidt and the administration just keeps the crap going. How much has this joke of an athletic director cost UIC in dropping a successful program to build a subpar Baskeball program. Dane and Schmidt were baseball buddies in high school and Rosengaard was a payback hire for Schmidt on another deal gone bad. Why does Dr. Henley continue to allow this type of corruption to continue. Good people have left for good reason, but the same old buddy's still make up the core of what is wrong at UIC.

That is great info if it were only true. First of all, dropping hockey and moving those dollars was not a Jim Schmidt decision. Secondly, Dane and Jim would have had a tough time being high school buddies since one is from Kansas and the other from Wisconsin.
I just love how some people feel they are qualified to speak about these things and don't have accurate information. Nice job buddy! Then again we are allowed to have our own opinions regardless of whether they are based in fact.

I personally do not feel the same way with the loss of the hockey program. Sure they were a good team, but if you think of the way the sporting world is right now it probably was a great move in the long run. Who would UIC play I mean think of the travel cost to play other hockey teams. Hockey is a dying sport, which is sad because I do enjoy watching hockey from time to time.
As for the rest of the stuff it is sad I hope things continue to change.

The expenses for Hockey were just too much. They were in the best conference there was and getting wins was tough. Also, as I was told by a former member of the athletic department, the cost to be in the conference was just getting to be too expensive. Not for travel and equipment, but the actual cost to be a member of the conference was getting too hard to justify.
Schmidt and Dane met at UIC when Schmidt was hired as an assistant coach and Dane was on the team.
Get your facts straight before you spout off.

Dave Rosengard has been appointed Athletic Director at Niles West High School in Skokie, Il. Is there anything that the school and community members should be aware of? Niles West hails Mr. Rosengard as a "savior" that will be instrumental in turning around its athletic program.
