Discussions have sure slowed down on this board lately with the Flames not playing as hot as we expected.
It's quiet around here!!!
Come on everyone, it is not the end of the world! We still have a shot to improve and do well in the HLT.

I'm with you flame fan. I think the expectations of some posters on this board for the season were way to high. Don't forget we lost our floor general Martel from last year and a couple other seniors, Aaron Car and Joe Scott (Big defensive presence). I think the fact we took Georgia tech to the wire may have inflated the expectations for the season a bit. I am not real surprised we are having a bit of a down year considering the players we lossed and I think it's a shame that some members of this board start crying "Fire Jimmy" just because we lose a few games. Some fans got spoiled with all the recent NCAA appearances and 20 win seasons.
I for one, as an alumni, am going to support my team through these growing pains. I have been a huge fan as far back as the 97-98 tournament season but stuck with he flames as a fan through a few years in 98 and 99 that we struggled quite a bit.
I think this team can get things turned around this season and have a strong finish. You are starting to see flashes from Jovan and some of the other young guys so I think there is reason to be optimistic.
Go Flames!!

Jay C, while I agree that expectations were very high, especially after the GT game, nobody can deny that this team is playing below what they're capable of. All I need to do is point to the UWP loss.....a loss to a D2 school should never happen. Guys aren't motivated to play D, they're not running an O, Jimmy's laughing on the sidelines while his players are bickering at one another, Armond is getting suspended for a crictical conference game due to fighting in another D2 game, and McGee just abandons the team unannounced. What is going on here....it's natural for some to blame coaching when things like this happen....
I can see the frustration with this team and it is a shame that some people have appeared to jump ship...I mean, we know who the true fans are. Like you I will stick with them as I have since 97, but this is still a disappointing year, even if a down year was to be somewhat expected.
As for the turnaround, I think we will pick it up a bit...we need start winning to raise our RPI and get a good bracket buster opponent.

Again Big D hit the nail right on the head.
I will continue to support away and I'm looking forward to the penn game since it seems like forever since we had a home game.
I have thought for years that Jimmy he definitly lacked in coaching skills. Its just now blaring out there. I moaned and groaned when we resigned him this summer. I know the record warranted it, but we could be paying dearly when ceds gone.

While expectations may have been high at times, I also have to point to the fact that I have watched this team just play like they didn't care. Case in point was the UWP game. There were times when the other team rebounded the ball, ran down the court and got an easy lay up because we were walking. I mean, that is something that should never happen! I don't care if we were 0-10, you can still hustle.

I've noticed the same thing as I jump between here and our UWM board. Things were definately the most hot just before and just after the UWM vs UIC game. Although both are frustrating teams right now with unpredictable ups and downs, I think most will agree that the rivalry is still alive. The intensity will most certainly be up by then, especially as conference play is well underway!
...as for right now, I'm just trying not to be burried in the snow!

I know it sucked lowing to UWP. Many here, including myself, question whether JC is the right person to take this team to the next level.
But there aint s@#! we can do about any of that. All of that disappointment is normal. Let's lick our wounds and move on. There is still the opportunity to finish the season strong, with or without going to the NCAA.
