That is the best photo of University Hall I've ever seen.
I've always loved that building. Its got that Lord of the Rings / Tower of Doom thing going for it, and the fact that there actually ARE falcons living on its ledges, swooping out of the sky to stalk their prey, just adds to the whole vibe. I've always wondered if that office on the top belongs to Ming the Merciless or the King of the Klingons.
Unfortunately, UH is in dire need of concrete repairs, to the point that they have had to erect scaffolding around it to protect pedestrians. It is hard to imagine that a university would erect a landmark like this only to let it crumble to the ground, but that is what seems to be happening.
I've also heard a rumor to the effect that the plan is to continue to neglect it in order to make the case for total demolition down the road. I really hope that rumor is false, because it would truly be a mistake to destroy that building. As much as I love South Campus and University Village, the architcture there is not in the same league.

They have already renovated the inside/outside of Grant Hall (all glass around). They are starting Lincoln Hall and Douglas Hall now.

Tear it down!
Taking down UH should be the first thing on the new chancellors agenda.
It is an unbelievable eyesore.

For some reason I kind of liked UH. Though they need to do work on it, the elevators are slow, etc.
Although there are some things the current generation may not remember...i.e. - who remembers the east side medical clinic on something like the 11th floor?
