I have been watching the videostream of the funeral for Officer Richard Francis, who was killed last week. I just wanted to take time out today to express my gratitude for men and women like him who go out there and put their lives at risk every single day so that we might have a better chance at staying safe. I have a father who is a retired Chicago Police officer and a younger brother who is new to the force, so this tragedy hit me a little harder. I know that not all police officers are angels, but we still need to show appreciation and respect for the ones that go out there and do great jobs and handle situations that we never hear about. Thank you officers.

I second that. It seems that the few bad apples spoil it for the entire force and of course nothing could be further from the truth.
There are genuine people on the CPD and other law enforcement that truly want to make a difference. I greatly appreciate those people and when we lose one, it affects all of us.
My prayers are with the Francis family and with yours as well ss2002 for the safety of your brother.
