Jan 15 we light the flame

Today both Spike and myself received a letter saying we have been chosen to light the flame on Jan 15th against valpo. I cant thank everyone on this board enough for pushing for us to get this great honor. When talking with the family over dinner tonight my wife said she could almost see a tear in my eyes. I hope when the day comes, I don't cry. It is really a incredible honor to be allowed to do this. Its almost unheard of that any team college, pro, or high school would recognize a couple of loyal fans and let them take the lead role in a very special tradition. I think that says a whole lot about how great the people that make up UIC are. Again thank you for help giving us this honor.

Wow, stomper and spike....congrats to the both of you! I can't think of anyone who deserves it more. You guys are the best fans UIC has...sticking with the team through its ups and downs...and UIC did it right by asking you to participate. Enjoy your experience...it's a once in a lifetime honor!

Make sure you have someone take your picture....and post it on the board. ;D
