Anyone else nervous about this game? Butler is 7-2-2 and tied with us in the Horizon. They beat us a couple years ago when we were ranked, so let's hope we don't experience a little deja vu today...
We appear to be in a little mid-season offensive funk right now...so today would be a great day to get out of it...

And there's the first loss of the season....
Why is it that we can never seem to beat this community college...in any sport? They beat us in soccer two out of the last three years (both times we were ranked), they knocked us out of the HL baseball tourney a couple years back, and let's not even bring up basketball where I think JC has beaten Butler about 3 times in his career at UIC.
The offense needs help...we can't hold opponents to 0 goals every game. Now we'll drop in the rankings, and even worse is we're sitting in 3rd place in the HL, at best....

Yeah, it sucks but there's not much you can do about it. It was only a matter of time before the first loss. I think this may help the boys focus and give them the mid-season kick in the pants they might have needed.
Here's a quote from the Butler coach that really seems to be a slap in the face to Coach Trask, his staff and all the players.
Coach Findley attributes the win to the team's character and also the fact that, "We were more fit and it showed in the second half".
I think that by saying something like that it really insults UIC's training methods. It is basically saying that they work harder than UIC. I hope that the players and coaches see this and it motivates them for the rest of the season! I hope that the Flames get another crack at Butler and prove them wrong!
