I also believe this school would pony up if a young coach came in and started winning games and was taking the program places. Obviously it couldn't throw the millions that some other schools could offer, but we are a big enough school in a big enough "market" that the potential for "coach" to make more money through other avenues would need to be calculated.
Personally I have always preferred the idea of building a new program over reestablishing an old one (Crean at Indiana) or following the line at a successful program. I want the stadium, field, etc named after me, not the house some other guy built.
Hopefully when this hypothetical coach comes along he thinks along the same way.
