Congrats to the UIC baseball team. Over the weekend they won the Horizon League regular season championship. Eight players made the All Horizon League First and Second Teams and Mike Dee was named Horizon League Coach of the Year. Nice job guys! The Horizon League Tournament starts this week in Indianapolis. UIC plays its first game tomorrow.

Yeah, UIC has a pretty good baseball team year in and year out. They did clean up at the awards banquet this week. It looks like they play Wright State today.
Speaking of good UIC sports, did anyone see that the UIC soccer team released its schedule...it looks challenging. And, the UIC/Loyola game at Flames Field will be the first UIC soccer game ever under the lights (night game). Apparently, they;re installing lights in a first phase of renovations.

I saw the soccer schedule and I am excited about it. I try my best to attend a game or two and being out of school now, a night game is very convenient. We have a young team but there is no denying that we have talent.
I did not know of any renovations until today. Are there any others besides lights at the soccer field? Also, PEB is going to be closed to students after next year. PEB is going to be used for sports teams with the new "PEB" on Halsted being for student use. At least that is what I was told.

Just wondering if anybody knows...
What happened to Justin Johnson on the UIC baseball team? He was an All Conference First Team selection last season from the Catcher position and this season I haven't seen him play in any games. Is he hurt? Transfer? If he was drafted, I think the sports website would have said soemthing.
