Big Series for Baseball

On Friday, UIC baseball will begin a big road series with WSU. WSU was picked 1st in the league this year, but UIC has been better than expected after losing a lot in the offseason.

UIC is the only team in the HL with a winning record. The next best record in the HL is CSU with a 5-8 record...pathetic. UIC's on an 8-game win streak and is undefeated in league play. Hopefully, we can continue our good play this weekend and take the series against the Raiders. Dee has done a wonderful job so far once again...

To add to Big D's thread, what makes this year even more surprising (in view of losing most of the players from last year) is that of the 10 position players that play most, 4 are Freshmen and 2 are Sophomores--no Seniors. Our leading hitter is a Freshman. The only Senior on the team is one of our starting pitchers. Further evidence of what a great job Coach Dee has done.

UIC took 2 of 3 from WSU this weekend. Nice job by Dee and the guys. It's still early but we now have a 2-game lead in the HL.

Unless something changes in the next couple innings, UIC baseball will be swept by YSU. We were pretty much dominating the HL but our recent funk will allow others to catch up now...
