UIC takes on WSU this weekend, and we were swept by them in a short series earlier this year. Currently, we're tied in the loss column with UWM, which is playing good baseball right now despite subpar facilities.
Tough schedule for the rest of the year (WSU, UWM, Valpo). I hope we can finish the season strong and keep our HL 1st place streak alive. Surprisingly, this team has not been nearly as good as I expected after returning so much from last year. We haven't hit too well, and our defense has been average at best.

Surprisingly, this team has not been nearly as good as I expected after returning so much from last year. We haven't hit too well, and our defense has been average at best. You are spot on with your assessment, Big D. On defense(?), our shortstop has 14 errors in 37 games, which, as a point of reference, translates to 61 miscues in a 162 game MLB season. Not exactly Gold Glove. We have no power on offense, with our leading HR guy leading the team with 5. But the biggest surprise has been our centerfielder, Mc Guiggan. As a freshman, the guy hit .370; this year, he is hitting .245. What happened (besides the sophomore jinx)? On the bright side, the pitching has been pretty good (except for the last few games) and freshman Michael Heesch has been a pleasant surprise in his relief appearances and occassional starts. The best part is that we are still in first place. GO FLAMES!!!
