MLB Draft - UIC Players

What I want to find out is what are the other former UIC baseball guys drafted are up to. We all know about Granderson, but I remember there being a couple of other guys drafted in recent years.

2007 draft - RHP - Ryan Zink New York Yankees in the 17th round Still in A Ball

Also congratulations should go out to Nathan Orf for being named to Ping! Freshman All American Team.

Mark Hallberg (who transferred to Florida State) is struggling in AA in the Arizona Diamondbacks system.

Zach Peterson is is in A ball.

David Cales, who had a very interesting career after coming from Missouri, is in the Cubs system after being drafted in the 24th round. At Daytona in A ball, he holds a 1.47 ERA.

Ryan Gehring, the Wisconsin Player of the Year coming to UIC, seems to have dropped out of baseball after going 5-9 with a 3.47 ERA for a team in the Independent Leagues.
