Looks like the match was a scoreless draw. Was hoping to see us score some goals but it just didn't happen. More importantly, does anyone know why Younger didn't play? Also, does anyone know why Julian Serrato is not on the roster any more? I really thought he had a bright future ahead of him for the Flames.

Someone on another message board said that Younger hurt his leg pretty badly over the offseason while playing for the Fire organization. However, no knowledge of Julian Serrato. It would be a weird time to just find out about a transfer I would think?

Younger going down is a big loss for us. Wonder if he'll be redshirting or if he's coming back this year. If they named him a captain, does that mean they expect him back?
Serrato was highly regarded coming in. Someone at bigsoccer speculated grades as the reason he's out. Weird he's off the roster completely, though. Hopefully he can get his grades in order and rejoin the team at some point.

Well I see that some others read the Big Soccer boards too, but just thought I'd relay the talk over there onto here. One of the posters on there who has proven that he has pretty good knowledge of UIC soccer has said that while Younger did have some work on his knee, it wasn't as bad as someone else said and he will not play in the Northwestern exhibition but he will be back for the season opener.
Julian Serrato is still at UIC, has a commitment to stay at UIC, but might be out for the entire season due to grades. I don't know if the entire season is for sure, but grades are his reasoning. As to why he is not on the soccer roster, I'm guessing that is just something that the soccer team does.
