Looks like he'll be gone before we really got to know him. Although, for the little time he was here, I can't say he did anything fantastic for UIC. He also committed tons of money to that global online campus, which caused some controversy.
Interesting that he's quitting after the UIUC campus senate voted for him to be replaced. Not that UIC would vote otherwise, but did we have a say in this? As we all know, UIUC has all the control, and now the Board of Trustees is full of UIUC grads.
Look for a UIUC grad to be the next president
Then UIC will be renamed to UIUC-Chicago and they will claim the medical center as their own, as some already do.
