Cubs to pursue Granderson

I'm sure most of you have seen this by now. As a huge Cubs fan, I'd love to see a UIC grad in CF. At the same time, I'm not sure I want him here. It will pretty much guarantee he won't win a WS (for as long as he's with us), and his high strikeouts could make him a target for fans, and I'd hate to see him being booed like other recent Cubs. But that season he had two years ago was amazing. If we don't have to give up the farm to get him, I think we have to go for it. He's a true class act...one of the best guys in baseball. If he ends up with the Yanks, I think I'll heave.

As a huge White Sox fan, I would love to see him here--for UIC and Chicago. As you know, he does a fantastic job working with the underprivileged people in the community in Detroit, which would transfer to Chicago, I believe.

As a UIC alumnus, he would be an ever-present face of the program. Would be great for recruiting.
