The 2010 MLS draft was yesterday and Bubonja wasn't drafted despite being the top-rated keeper. I think two keepers were selected in the 4th (and final) round of the draft, but Bubonja wasn't one of them (UCLA's Brian Perk was one, and I forget the other). Was wondering if anyone had any info as to why?
Even after the combine, he was still rated #1. Did he scare MLS teams away by saying he's planning on playing in Europe or something?
I'm surprised nobody took a chance on him in later rounds...

Everything I read said he would be the first keeper selected. Something must have spooked them...

Jovan's reaction to not being drafted... LinkI had no idea the Chicago Fire was one of two teams to take a keeper other than Jovan in the 4th round. I'm shocked the Fire didn't take Jovan instead of Sean Johnson. edit: ok, apparently Sean Johnson was a generation Adidas player so his salary doesn't count towards the team's cap. That's why the Fire took him.
