After giving up 91 runs in the first 7 games (13 per game), we are playing our first good team--23rd ranked Western Kentucky.
Our starters are scheduled to be Kovacevich, Garcia, and in the finale, Michael Heesch. Michael has been great in relief (2.84 ERA) so it's good to see him get a start. You don't really need a closer when you lose by an average of 8 runs per game.
Good luck, guys!!!

Flames Win!! Flames Win!! Holy Cow!!!
UIC took the finale of the 3-game series by a score of 7-5. Michael Heesch went all the way for a complete game win. Heesch looked great, giving up no runs and 2 hits through the first 5 innings. Hopefully, he'll be a fixture in the starting rotation. He's certainly head-and-shoulders above any of the other starters that we have thrown out there.
Nice Win!!

Definitely a promising performance from Heesch today against a nationally ranked team (that killed UIC pitchers in the first two games of the series). But John Rosinksi also had a great 4 for 4, 2 RBI day at the plate. bit.ly/9AKhoNBaylor (7-6) is up next, and they lost to W. Kentucky a week ago 6-2.
