UIC starts the season 2-0 by knocking off Marquette and Depaul. Very good news is that the offense is alive. UIC has scored 4 goals in the first two games (two by Eric Frazier today). Last year, UIC didn't score a single goal until the 5th game, and it took them 6 games to reach 4 goals. We've also had 28 shots with 17 on goal....much better start than last year. Depaul was #10 in the Great Lakes regional rankings. We also received votes in that poll and we should be at least #10 after this win. grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/depa/sports/m-soccer/auto_pdf/2011-12/misc_non_event/RegionalRankings.pdfThe pre-game story on Depaul's site had kind of cocky feel.... www.depaulbluedemons.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/083111aaa.htmlWhat made them think they were going to be the premier team in Chicago after winning 4 games last season? Anyway, let's hope UIC is back on track to getting to the top of the HL and back in the tourney where we've always been dangerous.

DePaul? Cocky? No way!
Its kind of funny how in the pre game article DePaul states the larger field will be to their advantage and then in the post game article say it is part of the reason they lost.
Either way good start to the season for sure!

Definitely a real nice way to start the season. UAB has a real nice squad and is going to provide quite the test for UIC this weekend. I would love to see the Flames win that game. I would be pleased with a draw too though.

Tough luck, not being able to pull out a W against UAB.

Unbeaten UIC and unbeaten, untied Memphis tied in Madison last night 1-1. Had we held on for two more minutes, we would've won the game (Memphis tied it in the 88th). Eric Frazier's been killing it for UIC.
Big home game against UCI this Sunday. I'm guessing if we knock them off, we'll be sniffing the polls soon.

The team is playing entertaining soccer and the kids really seem to be working for each other and enjoying themselves. They look like a team and it is showing in the results. I hope it keeps up and we get UIC back on the soccer map.

UIC @ Dayton
Quite an impressive web stream that they have! Multiple angles, a clear picture...very impressive.
Other notes:
UIC leads the Horizon League with 14 goals.
Ivan S. (not even going to try with the last name) leads the league in overall points.
UIC is in first place points-wise.
Prediction: UIC 3 Dayton 0

Definitely a nice stream by Dayton. UIC, as a very good college soccer program, should be streaming their games too.
This was a must win in my eyes. Dayton was 1-6 and anything less than a win, especially after we went up 1-0, would've been a disaster. Eric Frazier was the man again tonight. And that second goal off a beautiful assist in the last minute or two was amazing.
Thought the announcers were very complimentary of UIC...though the one kept calling us ICU...ugh. I don't understand why there are so many problems with the ordering of three letters. At the end though, the same guy thought Dayton played better than UIC. I'm not so sure...maybe in the first half....but in the second half, we really dominated possession...granted we were sloppy with it and would often throw it away at the end, but we still seemed to get the ball when we wanted to. Dayton did have a couple dangerous scoring chances in the 2nd half....UIC not so much....they just had a couple great plays.....the rest seemed very non-threatening. Overall, I thought it was pretty even....and the stats seem to support that.
Keep it up Flames...would love to see an HL championship and return to the NCAAs.
