I was just wondering if a couple or a few of the players have actually quit the team? I was just browsing through the pitching stats for this disappointing season to try to find some bright spots. I was doing so basically to check on Evak and Tarter because they are really performing well and are both freshmen, which is promising. Anyway, I went back to the roster to see who would be returning and losing. I noticed that Heaslip and Salemi, both of whom were having very rough seasons, were not listed on the roster any more. If you are hurt you are generally left on the roster. That leads me to believe that they either quit or were asked to remove themselves from the team.
This team had a lot of talent heading into this season and has really underperformed. I am beginning to wonder if there were some bad apples that helped to drag this team down? I hope that this season is a bump in the road and that if there were some bad apples they are now gone and UIC baseball can get back to where it belongs, on top of the HL.

Interesting about Salemi and Heaslip, both seniors. That leaves Hoffman as the only senior left on the roster. They were 3 of our 4 worst pitchers, in terms of ERA.
On another note, I notice that Coen, Detmer, Hinchley, and Michelson (3 freshmen and a sophomore), who had seen no action all year, are getting playing time. Hinchley and Michelson are freshmen pitchers, who have done well so far in their limited appearances. With Evak and Tarter, that's 4 freshmen pitchers that appear to have a bright future
Looks like Coach Dee will not be redshirting as many players as he had originally planned.
