Was looking through the Baseball Transactions section of today' s paper and lo and behold saw a familiar name in the Chicago Cubs section--- Michael Heesch. He was drafted in the 8th round by the Cubs and is on his way to the Arizona League Cubs. You might recall he played for UIC his first 2 years. After an excellent freshman season, he was very disappointing his sophomore year and transferred to NAIA school South Carolina-Baufort. Apparently he was a late bloomer because he had a heck of a senior season. Good luck, Michael (even though you bailed on UIC and signed with the hated Cubs) www.thecoastalsource.com/content/news/localsports/story/USCB-Pitcher-Michael-Heesch-Drafted-In-8th-Round/AXt-mAlMgkavl10hVkqWTw.cspx

Too bad he didn't stay amd mature here but good to see a guy progress and do well, in any case. Any irony/design in the relationship of his USCB coach and his dad being a Cub representative?
