We finished the weekend with a nice 2-0 shutout at Ohio State today...though we shouldn't be that suprised by this. UIC has beaten OSU three straight times since 2009. It would be more of a shocker if they beat us. Anyway, great way to rebound after losing a hearbreaker to Depaul on Friday. Here are the video highlights from the OSU game. Disappointed that we lost to DePaul, especially since their game winner came with just minutes left in the match. However, from the box scores, it seems that some Freshman are getting pretty significant playing time and are doing quite well with it. The first few games, especially with so many underclassman on the roster, is kind of a feeling out process so overall I'd say it is a pretty good start to the season.
Up next is Marquette, who has a pretty good squad this season so another good challenge for the team.
As far as those highlights (besides the incredible difficulty the announcer had with our player's names, ha), a very good showing by our GK and that definitely was one hell of a goal.

Not a bad start when you consider Radice has been out with injury and Beard is not 100% coming back from injury.

I feel like we've had the injury bug the past 2-3 years, and it's bitten some key players. What happened to Radice? Will he be back soon? |

Beard is playing after surgery to his legs this summer for circulation issues. Radice has a groin injury. Timeline?

Well, good to hear on both guys and hopefully they'll be good to go shortly. I was wondering why Josh Beard was not seeing any time in the pre-season game and was limited.
