We got some much needed help yesterday when Valpo beat then-undefeated Detroit. Right now we're at the top of the standings, and we control our own destiny with our remaining two games against the two teams right behind us, CSU and Detroit. Go Flames!

Very nice. I will admit that, what has seemed like an up and down year, that is very nice to see. Good to see our young guys stepping up and hope we can continue this and finish strong.

Hi guys,
It's official; UIC controls its own destiny in the Horizon League. If the Flames defeat BOTH Cleveland State and Detroit, UIC (and Flames Field) will be the host of the semifinal and championship matches of the Horizon League Tournament. Still work to be done, but a nice position to be in.
It's been a fun team to cover this season; UICJohn, you are correct about the young guys coming of age. Guys like Marcin Modzelewski, Thomas Villamil (both starting redshirt freshmen), and true freshmen Colin Marz, Kyle Lindberg, Jorge Alvarez and Joel Salmeron (among others) have all made a nice transition to Division I soccer.
Ivan is Ivan; in my book, he's the best player in the Horizon League and is really fun to watch. We'd love to see as many people out at Flames Field on November 2 as possible! The Flames will be taking on Detroit, in a game that very well could decide the Horizon League regular season championship.
