Even if the Flames win their remaining games and even if they reach the HL title game, does anyone honestly think this team has a chance against the darn good Panthers? I don't think so.
If they can't win a game with significance at home, UIC doesn't deserve to be dancing or playing in the NITs!
Coach C will have a bigger test this summer with trying to recruit talented players. Unfortunately for him, DePaul might be the main attraction for recruits among Chicago college teams this summer.

UWM is a good team. I have to give them that. I don't know. It's tough to say who deserves it and who doesn't. I mean if we win, doesn't that mean we deserve to be in? Tough debate there. But I know what you mean.

I hate to say it, but the Flames don't have a chance. Tonight was really a must-win game where they could defend their home court- and they came out like it didn't matter. No defensive intensity, UWGB ran their offense exactly how they wanted and the Flames never adjusted and never reacted. They are done.
As far as recruiting, UIC rarely is in the game seriously with most of the recruits that DePaul is generally looking at. Unless Mayo and Jeffers are ready and able to jump right in (and Jimmy is ready to let them) and start scoring, next year could make this year look bright.

I don't know if the season's over, but I'm almost starting to wish it was.
They seem to be getting worse as the season goes on. I hesitate to even call them a team because they look more like five guys in the same uniform taking turns shooting.
I don't know what you guys saw last night, but I saw a high school team. Older and more talented, for sure, but just as incohesive and disorganized.
FWIW, Jimmy was on CLTV after the game. He was grilled pretty hard about the consequences of loss last night. The thing that he said that surprised me was that "We're not quite ready to throw in the towel." I take this to mean that despite the recent humiliating losses, he does not plan to shake up his starting lineup.
We'll see.

everyone is certainly dissapointed with how the season has progressed but just think back to the 2001-02 season when Ced, Martell and Armond were Freshman.
Crazy things can happen in the conference tournament.

Well, from what I saw, it looked like they already threw in the towel. Seriously, when one team just has more talent than the other, you expect them to lose When one team is better than the other, you can't get upset. When one team tries their hardest but just comes up short, that is one thing. But I honestly don't think that was the case here. We played slow, lazy, and we played horribly.

Quote from the game story in today's Green Bay Press-Gazette: “Guys just threw in the towel,” Collins said. “They just quit. Some guys that we were depending on appeared to have gone out and partied all night. This was an important game for us, I thought. I went to bed early.”<br> www.greenbaypressgazette.com/sports/archive/sports_19843142.shtml

They should drive a player up a wall. If you show no heart or desire, then I expect your coach to say something. Hell, when I used to play in high school, if I messed up it pissed me off. And when the coach pointed it out, it made me want to try that much harder to prove him wrong and never do it again!

Maybe they should take the money out of bball and put in back into their old hockey program!

If players are gulping down beer and smoking cigarettes at a party on the night before a game, something is seriously wrong with that picture. They need to be studying their next opponent on the night before a game. Either that, or studying for their classes.
If the Flame players want to party, then they need to be dismissed off the team. Players who take winning seriously don't do silly crap like going to an apartment party on the night before a home game.

Our team is even giving us anything kind of leverage to argue their case for them..... what can we honestly say... we dont deserve anything..

I think that we are all bunch of pu$$ies (I mean whoever posted on this topic). The real fans are cheering for the team even if the ball is not rolling their way. After all, this is just a sport, and all of us like to talk s@#! about athletes getting drunk and stuff like that. That is negative. Our topic is negative too. We call them pu$$ies, but we make our comments in the same manner. How about some positive comments, or maybe we are to "tough" to be positive...
P.S. NFG , please, I mean please do not write anything. Keep livin' your life, SON... And come to watch some games bro...

While the language is more harsh than I would use, I agree with the sentiment. This negativity is stupid. Root for a great tourney run and enjoy seeing Cedrick Banks for the last time...he was a great player for 4 years here.

When looking at the big picture, those words spoken by the previous poster are completely true. We had a bad game at a bad time but it's time to put it behind us and get going on Thursday. We need to rap us this three seed and after that, who knows. The season isn't over!
