The 1st place men's baseball team opens up a 3 game road trip in Milwaukee this weekend. Took care of business at home against then 1st place Wright State. Need more of that team than the one that has struggled against teams like Oakland.

So we take 2 of 3 @ Milwaukee, losing yesterday and sweeping a DH today.
Wright State took 2 of 3 @ home versus a bad Y State team. So the status quo remains: we have a 1/2 game lead on Wright State and 1.5 game lead on Valpo, with Milwaukee 4.5 games back at the halfway point of the conference season.
I guess that none of that really matters since it is all for naught unless you win the HL Tournament. Last year, a bad Y State team won it, so I guess anything can happen.

I just wonder this - we are 0.5 games up on Wroght state because they had a league game that was rained out. I thought inread that they won't make it up. However, if we win the league by 0.5 games over them because they played one less league game, I wonder if they'd have to make it up or not.
Glad we took two today. Was a little worried after Friday.

Typically, rained out college games are not made up. I think the key would be if the game was officially listed as "cancelled" or "postponed". This is a distinction that many in the media and others don't seem to understand. They think the 2 words are interchangeable. A "cancelled" game is never played; a "postponed" game is re-scheduled to be played at a later date.

I would think that if the Raiders were a half game out during the last week of the season they probably would try to reschedule since it was a conference game. I think the team (I think it was Valpo) they had the series against would be open to it since they probably would need the game as well. Let's just hope the Flames have a big enough lead to make the point moot.
