Last HL series of the year starts later this week against YSU...at Granderson Stadium. We control our own destiny. Win out and we win the HL. If WSU wins one more game than us in our respective series, then they win the HL. Would love to see UIC come through in the clutch for once and win this thing once and for all...we're at home....YSU is very sweepable...let's get it done and bring the HL regular season title back to where it belongs...with UIC.

Flames score 3 in the bottom of the ninth to take a 6-5 victory and hold on to a 1/2 game lead over the Raiders. The Flames' magic number is two: a WSU loss and a UIC win tomorrow clinches the regular season crown. These next two games are huge! By the way, this will be the 14th out of the last 17 years that UIC has finished either first or second in the League. That is sustainability!

Regular season championship and #1 seed comes down to the last game! Flames win, they're the Champs. They lose and Wright State loses, Flames still Champs. They lose, Wright State wins, Flames are #2 seed.

Congrats to the Flames for winning the 2015 Horizon League regular season title!!!
I notice the league changed the format for the Tournament this year. I think a variation of the "Butler Rule" from Men's Basketball has been put in effect.
Last year, last place Youngstown State won the tourney and I think the league does not want to see a repeat of that. I believe in years past, the tournament was a double-elimination format (lose 2 games and you're out) for ALL teams in the tournament. I see that this year, the losers of the 2 games on Day 1 (Wednesday) are out, leaving only 4 teams to play the double-elimination schedule.
Good for us as the #1 seed. Let's hope we win the thing, although, to be honest, I think Wright State has the better team.
Go Flames!!!

Congrats are definitely in order. WSU and YSU did not make it easy on us but we came through. Have to put an asterisk next to this one though. WSU played one less game than us due to weather. Had they won that, they would've tied for the HL title and they would've been the #1 seed since they had a better record against Milwaukee than we did.
Tourney will be tough. WSU is solid and they have probably better positioning in the bracket because we could end up playing a road game at Valpo in game #1.
Would love to see us back in the tourney. So good luck Flames.
Btw, did you see the video of the Chancellor addressing the team. Big fan of how he's involved with athletics. Imagine if he were hired a decade ago...where would we be right now?
