Looks like Fens committed! I have a good feeling about him. Hoping he could an immediate contributor like Krutwig was for Loyola! You are correct! It is official. He is beyond excited to play for UIC and could have not been any more impressed with Coach Yaklich and the entire UIC staff.

Great way to start a Tuesday. News of our newest big man, which we desperately need. I’m biased, but great choice. With UIC’s strong academics, the city of Chicago to explore, and now to help build UIC into the basketball power it wants to be (and frankly should be) in a great conference like the Valley. Enjoy your time in Chicago, Cameron! Looks like he has some great upside. Love that he’s willing to go up strong with it and dunk. With some extra muscle and quickness, he could be a great player for us. Will be nice to have someone eat up some space near the basket. Here’s a recent game of his…I like what I see youtu.be/lyPUDKiQg-o

Big D, his dad Randy played for NIU 89-93. We have lots of family in the burbs, so Chi-town is like a second home to us. Kid has grit and toughness just like his old man. If you watch any of his games this year, the kid put up amazing numbers all while fighting consistent double if not triple coverage. Once he gets groomed by the UIC coaching staff it will be quite fun to watch what this kid could do!

Biggest recruit so far I would say because of the size aspect. Was he not highly recruited? Why us? You have to have size in MVC so this is big!

He was way under the radar. A late developer. He only had 2 offers, us and Western Illinois. Iowa, in my opinion was stringing him along. I think the Flames got a big man who will only get better!

Its really going to be an extremely interesting year with all the new players and a new conference. Not sure what to expect since a lot of MVC teams have been really hurt with transfers. Murray State has been decimated

It might be more interesting than we all know!! Most of the "Valley pundits" have us finishing between 10th and 12th. I figure we're probably better than Valpo and Evansville so that puts us in 10th place right now. With all of the turnover that's going on in The Valley, I really wouldn't be surprised if we finished somewhere between 6th and 8th. For us, where we're coming from, I think that would be pretty good! Most of Indiana State's team has been run off by its coach while Illinois State has a new head coach with the customary "new coach" transfers. If Coach Yak and his staff get the right mix of transfers and freshmen, UIC's first year in The Valley could be very positive!

Chuck love the optimism but the teams relying on a sophomore and two freshman and Franklin as of now. MVC is so much tougher then the Horizon and Yak’s teams have struggled mightily in the Horizon. I hope your right but I see 10th-12th place more realistic.
