It's premium content. You have to subscribe to see it. I did read up to the part where Clay said the Flames had been recruiting him since 2020...and also coming to the games. He developed a bond with Coach Yak. Although there's no news on him actually signing, I'm pretty content that he won't renege after all this time and then verbally committing.

Coach Yaklich just had a very interesting post on Twitter. Just a 4 leaf clover Looking forward to what that means

Of course all of this is just speculation.

I believe Elijah Morgan was a ND walk on

I would hope that with several scholarships left we are not going to bring on walk-ins at this time. Again, all speculation. At least Coach Yak is making the speculation fun.
Maybe we signed a player from Ireland? We have done that before pretty recently

We've got 8 schollies available (not counting Clay because he hasn't officially signed). May 18 is the end of the signing period. A whole lotta recruiting and signing will be taking place in one month's time. I'm really hoping Coach gets the players he wants and needs for the betterment of this program. Honestly, I'm beginning to sweat a bit, especially in light of some of the MVC teams starting to sign nice players. ISUr, ISUb and Missouri State are racking up!

I hear you Chuck. Some of the commitments that ASU and Missouri state have gotten recently are pretty darn impressive. I really like our freshman as well as our sophomore class. However as I said in the previous post we can’t rely on freshmen only. We’re in a few guys right now and will see how that goes. But I feel as though with the situation the past few years coach has had to take guys that he might not have it given normal recruiting circumstances. I hope we get guys that we want And no offense to players or coaches but not Keyser we settle for

Coach Yaklich just had a very interesting post on Twitter. Just a 4 leaf clover Looking forward to what that means I believe he is a Celtics fan. So think the clover was likely a tweet regarding their buzzer beater win yesterday!

I think we're in good shape with wings but we really need a good point guard and a power forward

Here's an excerpt from the story Big D posted a link to:
Steven Clay pulled off one of the toughest feats that a high school prospect with dreams of playing Division I ball can accomplish.
He waited.
Last fall the Menomonee Falls senior had a handful of scholarship offers in hand, but rather than make a decision in time to sign during the early period in November, he pumped the brakes on his recruitment. The time wasn’t right.
“I didn’t feel like I had a bond with most coaches I had offers from,” he said.
After Clay took a few more months to consider his options, it turned out that a school from the beginning of the recruitment process was the place for him. He committed to Illinois-Chicago last week.
“Me and UIC have had a bond since 2020, so for them to keep recruiting me and keep showing me love and keep coming to the games (meant a lot),” Clay said. “Just to see Coach 'Yak' come to school and show me so much love, I felt like I had a home to come to for the next four years.
I find it interesting that Coach Yak and UIC had their eye on this kid back in 2020. By the way, Clay's teammate Seth Trimble is all everything in Wisconsin high school basketball this past season and is headed to North Carolina. I like it when we get kids from winning situations at winning schools.
