This is necessary in this day and age. Our location really needs to be exploited to raise the level of play here. We are in a fairly unique situation in the heart of a great city. Get some of that corporate money in there. My concern is that this is probably the last we’ll hear of it. There won’t be any transparency in terms of how much is raised, who it’s going to and for what. So we’ll never know if it’s actually working. Hopefully like most other initiatives at UIC, this won’t shrivel up and die within a couple years. Well, I feel like we’re a little late to the game, but I’m glad to see that this is a thing now in place. This needs to be a big thing for us to compete in the future. I think that’s just the fact of the matter now. Schools will need to offer them incentive for the student athletes to come there. I know that we have a lot going for us that we’ve all talked about before – the city, great academics, and other opportunities of our location end but I think moving forward money is going to play a factor in pretty much every impactful recruit.
