I mean….have to admit it was a great overall game and we really played well for 98% of the game. But the story of UIC basketball has always been not making clutch plays when we need them. From letting Devries get his own rebound on his missed FT at a critical point and making a 3-point play, or Rivera missing a FT that would’ve put up us 1 at the end of OT (or regulation can’t remember), or Jones falling and throwing it out of bounds right as JHood says we’ve played a clean game with few turnovers…just too many opportunities that we let slip through our fingers. Once CJ went out, I figured that was ballgame.
Tired of losing these types of games and having these idiot fans cheering on our home court. We’re just always on the wrong side of this stuff.

I thought being a Cubs fan was rough and it's honestly no comparison to being a fan of UIC. Great game yes but it's a losing product and mentality. We need a coach that teaches these kids how to close out games and have mental toughness. Yak had nothing to lose he should of played some fresh guys in iOT 2 and 3. Rivera was exhausted. Where was the other freshman tonight

A few thoughts -
1. Coach is going to be back next year. I don’t think otherwise for a moment. He had two years left on his deal and he is staying. I like Coach as a person. We have a nice looking CPS recruit coming in. But I just don’t know how many coaches are in his position - middling for the first four years - and then turn the program around. Just no excitement around the program and how can he build that after 4 years of below average?
2. I have no clue how playing time is decided. No understanding. And as a thread say a week ago, there are factors. Yes. We know. But teams have their rotations and good players should be on the court. It’s almost March and we have huge uncertainty with Clay, Fens, Ojukwu. Mind you, I think most of us have faith they can be solid players but we just don’t know. Case in point, tonight Fens got 2 minutes of playing time and Ojukwu got none. Clay got 8 points in 8 minutes and for all we know will get benched next game. L
